Marcy Farrey is a first-year graduate student in DePaul’s Master of Arts in Writing and Publishing Program. Before coming to DePaul, she worked in television news as a reporter and producer. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. While at Northwestern, she served as News Director for the university’s radio station, WNUR-FM. She joined the DePaul Writers Series so she could become more connected to the university and her fellow writing students. She likes writing Creative Nonfiction, but is also working on some Young Adult fiction and screenwriting projects. Her favorite writers include David Sedaris, Diablo Cody and Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas.
Colin Harris
Colin Harris is a second year graduate student in DePaul’s Master of Arts in Writing and Publishing Program. He has a Bachelor’s of Arts in English from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. At Urbana-Champaign, he would often spend his time sleeping in; sometimes until 2 or 3 in the afternoon—long after anyone should remain in bed. His favorite writers include Roberto Bolano, Amy Hempel, Donald Barthelme, Mary Robison, Ali Smith, Richard Bausch, and many, many others.
